Team Challenge Event 2019

Team Challenge is a fun, team competition aimed at mini and junior players in club programmes who are new or inexperienced to competition. The competition offers flexible event and scoring formats in addition to a number of fun prizes and giveaways to maximise the experience for the players on the day. All formats are team based and matches do not count for ratings and rankings.

Please see this letter below from the LTA regarding a fun competition for all Red and Orange level players. There its also the offer of ground passes for the Nature Valley Event that is happening at the Tennis Centre that week. The kids will have fun and you can all enjoy the tennis too. If you are keen to attend then please let me know by Friday 31st May so I can submit all applications. 

Dear Nottinghamshire Club Main Contacts and Coaches
 
We would like to invite your mini red or mini orange players to take part in our first ever Nottinghamshire Team Challenge Mini Festival taking place on the first day of the Nature Valley Open (Nottingham)  on Saturday 8th June at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.  We are running 2 separate Festivals (red and orange) and players can come on their own, with a partner or in teams of 4 – the decision can be made by you, your coaches and parents – and the Festival will consist of low-key timed doubles matches.  Clubs are not restricted to the number of players that can register interest but in the case of over-subscription we may have to restrict player numbers to allow the widest number of clubs to benefit from this opportunity.
 
To make this event part of a fun day at the Nature Valley Open (Nottingham) we are offering a free adult ground pass for each player that takes part allowing for a family day out with the options of watching some fantastic quality tennis, a chance to play some doubles, and spend the day wandering the tournament site, including the hospitality and merchandise outlets, with maybe a picnic to round the day off!  Additional adult ground passes can be purchased on the day at £6 and under 16s can get free entry if accompanied by an adult so siblings can come FOC as well to make it a real family day out.
 
This offer is only available to players at Nottinghamshire clubs and the playing level is strictly beginner to intermediate with the emphasis being on low-key, fun doubles play.  Results will not be recorded and will not be used for rating or ranking purposes.  In the event of over-subscription, priority will be given to players with minimal or no previous tournament experience or, in the case of mini orange players, a rating of 12.4 or 12.3.
 
Play will take place between 2pm and 4pm and ground passes will be available for players and family members from 10am in the morning. Parking will be free on site that weekend, which is an additional bonus!
 
To register interest in taking part and taking advantage of this fantastic offer available only for Nottinghamshire clubs and players, please complete the attached spreadsheet and return it to me no later than Friday 31stMay.  Players can be registered individually, in pairs or in teams of 4, as you wish.  Notification of acceptance will be made on Monday 3rd  June when further details for the day will be provided.
