Ian Johnstone:"While I may not quite be knocking on Djokovic’s door just yet, the serving course gave me several key points to improve on that I had not thought about. Seeing yourself serving on video is an eye opener. Oh.. and the course was great fun being interspersed with lots of other interesting and enjoyable tennis skills too. Highly recommended."
Freddie Booth aged 10yrs: 'My lessons are fun but the coaches work me hard enough to improve. I love competing at tennis because you can't draw!'
Kate Robinson: Mum to Michael Robinson
"I just wanted to comment on how excellent I thought the coaching was down at Attenborough this afternoon. Matt was brilliant with the pair of them, so enthusiastic and clear in explaining what he wanted them to do and why.
I was very impressed with the range of techniques covered in the session, ensuring they didn't get bored but spending sufficient time on each aspect to make sure they took on board what they needed to learn.I came away from the session really happy that he is receiving such quality coaching and Michael was beaming throughout.
I am also really happy with the coaching he is receiving on a Saturday, although I don't get to watch it as closely as I'm too busy playing!
We live in an age in which we are often quick to criticise, and not necessarily one in which we give praise where it is due but I just wanted to thank you and the team for making Michael's tennis so enjoyable. He really is loving it at the moment, which is all we care about, but he is clearly developing in the process which is great.
Please pass on my thanks. Kate Robinson"
Carter and Max Pateman (brotherly love!). Carter 13yrs: 'I first came to On The Ball 4 years ago at a Woodthorpe Tennis Summer Camp. I really enjoyed it so I decided to go to a club session. All of the coaches were great and made the sessions enjoyable.
My brother, Max, joined one year later when he saw how much I liked it. Me and Max play 3 times a week with On The Ball Coaching together and now don't argue quite as much!"
Audrey Macmillan: “I recently took part in one of OTB's coaching courses. It was really helpful, and I am now more confident about my technique and am managing to serve more consistently (at last!)
Because of the small numbers, Chris was able to give each of us a lot of individual attention, and to tailor his advice to fit our particular capabilities/limitations. I was particularly pleased with the balance he achieved in the lessons - while we did mostly work on various aspects of the serve, we also played points and other shots, so that it was never too intense.
I can heartily recommend this enjoyable course to anyone wanting to improve their serve.”
Ellie Heath, Mini Tennis player at Ravenshead and Woodthorpe
"I've become a lot more confident in my play with the coaching I've received."
Matthew Heath, Yellow ball player at Woodthorpe and Ravenshead
"It's a good way to have fun and learn a great game by an amazing team of coaches."
Julie Heath, mum to Ellie and Matthew
"Tennis is something we can do as a family now and in the future, and improve on with expert coaching."
