Letter from the Club Chair, Frances Leaman - 26/04/2019
Dear Parent or Guardian of Junior member
Renewal of Junior club membership
I hope your Juniors are enjoying their tennis and raring to go to make the most of the summer season ahead.
Following the Club’s AGM, we have a largely new Committee to continue the good work of the previous one and I am writing to let you know about one change we are trying this year around Junior membership.
As you are probably already aware, it’s time for the whole Club to renew memberships and subscriptions are due on 1st May. This year we would like you to complete one of the enclosed Junior membership forms for each Junior and send your subscription to the Club. You will find payment methods on the form but I encourage you to pay by BACS if possible using your name as the reference.
Completed forms may be scanned to [email protected], or handed to Chris McGill.
There is no change regarding the coaching or the entitlement for Junior players. As now, all Junior players are required to be members which entitles them to:-
£51.50 (JUNIOR UNDER 10) / £71.50 (JUNIOR UNDER 18)
Please note we offer a 10% discount off the membership fee where there are 2 family members. This applies to siblings as well as Adult and Junior members. Where there are 3 or more members, the discount is 20%.
We hope this may encourage you to take up tennis and join your Junior, if you have not already done so. On the Ball offers adult coaching or if you are someone who “used to play a bit”, why not try before you buy and join us for Ladies / Men’s night on a Monday / Tuesday or mixed social sessions held on Wednesday evening or Saturday afternoon to reawaken those skills. You’ll find more details at www.woodthorpeltc.co.uk
Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or to speak to Chris McGill if you have any questions
Yours sincerely

- a weekly session (30 weeks of the year) at Junior Club night on Fridays 5.30-6.30pm
- play for Club teams when the coaches feel it’s appropriate – we have a number of teams entered in competitions this summer plus some of the more experienced Juniors who play in the adult teams
- free membership of British Tennis with the opportunity to ‘opt in’ to the Club ballot for Wimbledon tickets (11 year plus for the ballot – sorry, this is the LTA rule, not ours)
- opportunity to play at the Club outside of coaching or adult sessions
